Procedure for Fundraising at Walmart

Regarding the Wal-Mart Space Request Tool we used to secure a place in front of Wal-Mart for our Tootsie Roll Drive, attached is the hand-out we were given for requesting space.  It is our understanding that calls to Wal-Mart Stores or Home Office will no longer be accepted.  All requests must be submitted electronically using the information provided on the Space Request Tool attached.

I'm not sure if an individual must first have an account set up with Wal-Mart to use the Space Request Tool if they are only requesting space.  We started out thinking that we had to declare ourselves a 501(c)3, which we are not, so I went through my personal account with Wal-Mart.  After the user enters the following URL https://www.walmart.com/nonprofits and clicks on the Request Space button they will quickly learn whether or not a Wal-Mart account is required.

When entering https://www.walmart.com/nonprofits the key is to ignore the "Join our nonprofit Community" section.  Scroll to the bottom of the page until a section that looks like the picture on the Space Request Tool is seen (it is titled "More ways we help").  Directly under the "More ways we help" paragraph is a button titled "Request Space".  Click on that button and complete the subsequent fields as the user scrolls through the program.  It is important to know the Wal-Mart store number from which you are seeking space before you start the program.

Once I submitted the requested information I received an email from Space Platform indicating that "Your Space Request Account has been Created".  The email read as follows: "Congratulations! Your space request account has been created! Please log in at https://www.walmart.com/nonprofits to review space availability and submit a request for space outside of a Walmart facility.  Requests should be submitted at least 21 days prior to your proposed event date.  You will receive another email notification once your request has been reviewed. P:lease note, submission of an outside space request does not guarantee space will be available for your organization.  Thanks again for all that you do to support the community."
